So here’s my quick review;
1. The walls are about the same thickness as a quarter panel on my old chevy.
2. The door is heavy because it has two layers of this sheetmetal–a hollow space between them for the lock equipment.
3. (This isn’t a complaint) I would have much rather had a digital mechanical key pad instead of electrical–this would have removed the need for a pass key. I couldn’t find one.
4. Seems solid.
5. The lock bolts that actually hold the door closed are pretty impressive for such a small cheap unit.
six. Is not fire or water proof–but I still like it a lot.
All in all, I think this is the best bang per buck buy and, for the price, I recommend this as a place to store that ‘extra gun’, extra emergency money…maybe the keys and codes to your outside door lock–that kind of thing.
After a quick look, I don’t think your could have busted into the walls of the safe with a sledge hammer very soon. A drill would do nicely and a ‘hole cutter’, but I don’t think many criminals carry such things.
So there it is, if you got a use for such a security devices, and not a lot of money…(and your not keeping the HOPE Diamond there)…this will do just fine until you get rich and buy a bank vault.
