there’s just something about the bow on the heel that takes these simple satin dress pumps from “so-so” to “sexy” in about nothing flat! however, it’s taken some doing to get the creases out of the ribbon falls (the part that hangs down off the bow), so that little issue cost these a star in my review. also, the heel is pretty high (and despite tags that have been used for this item, these are NOT platforms), so unless you’re used to trekking long distances in stilettos, either be prepared for some discomfort or plan on doing a lot of sitting. and contrary to what another reviewer wrote, I found that these shoes ARE actually pretty true to size: I typically wear a 7-1/2, and since these aren’t available in half sizes, I ordered an 8, which is a bit big, as expected, but the addition of a couple of Heavenly Heelz (by Foot Petals) solved that problem. also, I do realize that different computer monitor colour calibrations can affect the appearance of products (as can the lighting in product photography), and I’d have to say that the grey satin pumps are darker than they appear on my monitor — more what I’d call pewter — but they’re still very pretty and worked quite nicely w/the outfits I’ve worn them with. if you’re looking for a subtly sexy dress pump, this is a great option!
I was actually shopping for a silver shoe to wear with a red suit (suit has silver buttons), but I had a hard time finding a nice pair, so when I found these, I figured they’d work since they are satin.
I love the shoe. I tend to like shoes that are very feminine and girly, shoes that make me feel like a lady and sexy. These shoes definitely did that for me. The bow on the back adds such a soft, feminine touch. The shoe just makes me walk sexier.
I agree with the reviewer who said that the color is a bit different (but that’s probably due to monitor resolutions and things). I also had a rough time ironing out the creases in the bow. Also, even after a great deal of steaming, one side of the bow wouldn’t lay flat at all, so I just gave up and let it hang with a bit of a twist. While the shoe itself is very comfortable, the cut of the peep-toe caused a bit of discomfort. It could just be me, but it really hurt my toes quite a bit. Those minor glitches are what cost the shoe one star for me.
But overall, I love it and can’t wait to put them on again!
