Magic FishBowl Reviews

I wasn’t aware that this fishbowl was the size of an orange or baseball. The description does in fact say 15 ounces, which now makes sense. I purchased it for my cat who loved to terrorize my beta (when he was alive). I would move the beta to random high pieces of furniture and my cat would always find him.

I put batteries in it and filled it with spring water (not the distilled water that is recommended). I didn’t put the little rocks in the bowl. It makes a low humming sound and when the fish “swim” into each other they make a crashing noise. The noise got my kitty’s attention more than the fish swimming. When it was presented to him, he rolled his eyes at it(or maybe at me). I place him in front of the bowl and he stuck his huge paw in the water…his paw is just about the size of the opening in the fish bowl. I’ll have to supervise him with the fish bowl because I’m afraid he may get his face (not his head) stuck in the bowl.

It’s of good quality but I don’t see it being appropriate for a small child (tiny pieces) or a larger child for that matter (sheer boredom). The big orange fish basically twirls in a circle while the blue fish bounces around until it crashes into the orange fish. The blue fish has a talent of swimming backwards too (LOL). No one could possibly think the fish are real, good effort though.

My other cats sniffed it, looked at me like I’m crazy and then walked away as if offended. :( I would never put this thing on my desk at work and I would never pay more than the $12 I spent on it.
I bought this for my grandson to put on his night stand. He has trouble falling asleep. This keeps him entertained while he tries to relax and fall asleep. He told me it makes him happy to watch the fish swimming.
