I was looking for a suit to enhance my bust and flatten my mom-belly, and this suit flattened my belly as well as my bust. I ordered it in my usual size, a 6, and had trouble getting it on. Then it was difficult to breathe. I must have a longer torso, too, because there was no give in the suit at all.
The suit fits nice and snug around the tummy area, which is what I definitely needed. The others reviewers were right about sizing – go a size up from your usual. The style is very nice. I finally found a suit that holds me together.
If you order anything from them, even on their web site beware that their customer service is terrible…if you want to call it service. My sister had a bad experience with them and I just thought it may have been an isolated incidence. I decided to order two bathing suits and wanted to return them but they would only give me credit because they said bathing suits only have a 15 day window for returns. Their return policy is not clearly stated and they said that the invoice/policy that they sent me with the suits is an “old return policy” that says you have 60 days. They would not honor the return policy they sent me (60 days) as they said the internet is the most accurate/recent policy (and by the way I did not find a 15 day policy on the web-site either). One of the customer service reps hung up on me, when I was not being aggressive, yelling, or anything. I would not recommend anything from Newport News. I am going to file a complaint with the BBB.
This suit was a little tricky to get on, but once I got into it, looked great. I am small busted, so it is always nice to find a suit that I feel comfortable in. I would definitely recommend this for the price…can’t beat it! I would feel good wearing this suit anywhere. The slimming effect is also a nice feature, and the combination of the black with square neckline make this a classic for years to come.
This is a nice, comfortable suit but I’m always frustrated with larger size swimwear that doesn’t contain a good deal of bust support. If you sag, I would probably recommend you don’t buy this suit because you risk looking… well, saggy! Other than that the suit is easy to wear and the neckline is flattering. It does fit big, though, so keep that in mind when ordering.
This is a very flattering suit which gives just enough support to hold in the small bulges that seem to appear as you approach 40! I normally take an 8 or 10 and went for the 10. It gives you a natural shape without feeling like you’re being squeezed to death and the square neckline and folded detail is very attractive. Very happy with it.
n a panic to get a new suit for a cruise in January, I bought this and was glad I did. The legs are cut high enough to be fashionable, but not too high for we ‘women of a certain age’. It is a little long waisted, but in black, it didn’t matter much. It really smooths out the lumpy bits and the square neckline is very flattering. I’d recommend it to anyone. I felt confident and it is one of the few things I’ve ever bought without trying on that I was really happy with.
One of my girlfriends has a Calvin Klein swimsuit that looks similar to this and I loved it. I tried on a similar Calvin Klein and it looked great, I just couldn’t get myself to pay the $100 for the suit. When I saw this swimsuit on Newport News I was estatic. It has a similar cut/style but is a third of the price.
Upon receiving the suit I was thrilled. It met all of my expectations. It fits well and hides my post baby tummy and is in general very flattering. The swimsuit has all of the structure of a much more expensive suit. The suit is very comfortable and Newport News had very fast shipping.
It is a somewhat modest swimsuit which I like for taking my 1 year old son to swimming lessons. For some reason showing up to baby swimming lessons in a skimpy two-piece just didn’t seem right 
Suit does fit very snug. I am a size 6 in clothes and bought a size 8. Thank goodness because I barely got it on. Once on though, it does “slim” you. There is a tight inner lining and a looser outer layer. I am very small on top and the gathered front helps create the illusion of a little more. The leg opening are not too high and it does cover you completely. I would definetly order it again. Just make sure you go one size up! Shipping was very fast.
