I got my costume yesterday, and I was very pleased with how well made it is – not cheap looking at all! The dress is somewhat stretchy, but does run pretty true to size. I am a size 8 in most things, and the size Large (8-10) I ordered fit with a little room to stretch. It would comfortably fit a person who is a size 10 also. The laces on the front are not functional, but the ribbons are a very nice touch. The skirt is very short, but I doubt anyone ordering a costume like this is expecting otherwise… it does look great on! Make sure you order a petticoat too – otherwise you will not get the same look.This costume looked fabulous! I stitched the black straps to my bra straps so they stayed in place, but that was all the work it needed. I came in 2nd place (second only to Marie Antoinette) at the costume contest! I bought this from First Fantasies at a fair price (approx 40$). You will not be disappointed! It is well made and will turn you into one sassy fine piratey wench.
The XL runs TRUE to size 10-12. The nice thing is that there is room to take in the straps should you shrink. 
I recommend the hat (also well made and sassy) and the petticoat (it’s 10$) to make this costume the star of the show.
