I got this to wear under my wedding dress, which was a silk sheath. Unfortunately when I ordered it, I did not realize that there would be a huge seam running right up the middle of the panties. It was very visible through the silk so I was unable to wear it. It is a very good product though, it works great for tucking in problem areas, but I wouldn’t recommend wearing it with light fabrics.
I tried this on and it was actually pretty comfortable (no breath-sucking). But there was a big, raised seam right down the middle of the waist which made them totally unwearable. The whole point of the high-waisted spanx is to smooth out your waist so that you can wear a tighter dress, right? Yet, when I tried the dress on, you could see the seam. Very irritating.
This product is ok, but it didn’t wow me…I gave birth to twins and needed something to help “smooth” me out…it is more stretchy up top so it does not support so well. (I have to keep pulling it up) Also it seems to have started unraveling…i have only worn it 3x. I do not need it for the legs but i like how no lines are visible. Maybe the more expensiveone is better….
so it is not a total miracle worker but I was able to fit into my favorite skirt and “look right” for the first time in years!!!!! I am so happy if they have a cami or tank that i could pull down over it it would almost be like loosing those 30 I put on during my surgery!!!!!!!
I ordered a Spanx product and 2 bra’s. I specified in my email that I absolutely needed it on 4/10/09. They sent an email that it had been dropped off to UPS on 4/9.09. As of 4/13/09 I do not have the package. The wedding is over. I tried sending emails – no replies. I talked to a very unfriendly woman this afternoon. Even AMEX understood that NOT delivering a wedding item in time for a wedding is inappropriate and they have placed a STOP on the charge. Of course once I advised Bare Necessities that I had stopped payment with AMEX, they answered my emails. I’ve read several reviews about Bare Necessities on line since ordering and it seems common practice to promise something by X date and to not come through! I had asked for my $22 overnight fee to be refunded – had they answered that email, I would have been fine but they choose to ignore my emails and when I didn’t have the package 2 business days later, after paying for 1 business day delivery, I called AMEX to dispute the charge. They’ll never ger my business again. I hope to post this on every site that accepts reviews for Bare Necessities – they are horrible – no customer service to speak of. Unfortunate for them given the recession a little bit would have went a long way.
Well, their loss. And a lesson learned – check reviews BEFORE purchasing. (Oh, their checkout process – you don’t even get a chance to cancel the order – I hit forward and bang, the order was processed – no chance to change your order or mind.). I also plan on writing a stern letter to them. This is an example of what customer service has come to with some companies – they plain just don’t care.
It smooths, it shapes, it flattens – I really did look like I’d lost inches in the mid-section and spent a chunk of time toning….. BUT it did not stay put, as advertised. I did get the right size and it was fairly comfortable, as long as I didn’t move around or stretch or bend too much. It rolled down and started to irritate. I actually sewed a piece of elastic and a snap to the front and my bra held it in place there, but the back kept doing the same thing. The body of the panty also laddered (ran) when I first put it on. The product *is* sturdier than pantyhose, but I was surprised at how easily this happened. Overall, disappointing. I will probably try again, perhaps sewing holder straps in the back, but I’m afraid this product did not perform as advertised for me.
Also, despite the fact that there is a “vent” so you can pee without disrobing entirely, I found that experience disconcerting! My body wanted to pee but my brain was convinved I was still wearing undies. Not the product’s fault, but an amusing side effect to consider.
