My daughter got this for her 5th Birthday and I wasn’t eager to open it when I saw it was another one of those “color your hair” dye kits. This one was a color your doll’s & color your own! Well, we have tried all the girl crush products out there and they usually end up looking really cruddy. On Halloween, my daughter dressed up as Hannah Montana and instead of putting one of those ugly wigs on her, we decided to just put a few color streaks in her hair. She reminded me that she had the barbie that we hadn’t opened yet and we gave it a try with this product! Her hair turned out awesome & it washed out really easily unlike the other products which kept her hair dyed for a few days. You do have to run the color over it several times to get the desired look, but it dries really nice and lasted all day! We also tried it on Barbie and it was easy enough for my 5 year old to do unattended without ending up with a bunch of dye on her! The only complaint I have is that if we want more of this dye we have to buy another barbie! : ))My 4yo daughter got this as a gift. She really liked it for a couple of days. It’s a cute idea, but the hair color tool is just ridiculous. It doesn’t actually “color” the hair. It just rubs some purple/blue chalky stuff on it. The hair color flakes off and makes a big mess. It also comes with a bunch of little hair accessories. They are very cheap and not that pretty. My daughter never used any of them in her hair and lost them almost the same day. Also, not very durable. We’ve had this doll for several months and her leg is missing. I suspect my 2yo son pulled her leg off, but still it must have been quite easy to remove for a 2yo. It’s not excessively expensive and is a pretty doll. If you can stand the chalky hair color and don’t mind some occasional cleanup, it’s a decent toy. However, I’d probably spend my $20 on something else given the choice.Great concept, but the ink doesn’t last long & barely comes out on the hair. My 10 year old daughter & her friends were excited to use it but became frustrated when it didn’t really work.
